I recently took a tour with the Tide Guide and loved it. We had just set up camp when a norther blew thru. It was freezing both Sat and Sun morning, but we were prepared and it warmed up each day. The flora and fauna were prolific and well identified. I thought you would be interested in this for your educational program. Bill has a lease with the State for Shell Island for educational purposes. By the end of the trip, our Scouts had an excellent understanding of the bay system and the islands environment. The whole experience was a lesson in sustainability...everything was made to withstand time and the elements. There was no packaging, all the food was prepared from scratch, and delicious. The camping was comfortable considering how cold it was, but would have been fine even if a lot warmer as the tent walls could have been insect screen. I could explain more, but I think you and Bill can cover better ground without me in the way. I have enclosed photos and Bill's flyers and e-mail info. We loved the experience....in the first couple hours, we were kayaking down the intercoastal canal within 50 feet of 2 families of Whooping Cranes. The weekend was one of solitude. There were very few boats to interfere with the multitude of pelicans, cormorants, and osprey. I hope this is something you can use. Sincerely, Graham http://www.drewrymartin.com | ![]() | ||
